ed+1

i think the guys saying that this is standard are mean  the only reason why they say it's fine is because villain did not fold, every reasonable player would fold anything there.
i think especially saying things like "yeah this is 25nl go ahead and learn smth which is plain horrible later" is just not fair :-)

raise any pp preflop, limped pots are mean mean mean, try to never play limped pots (cb a lot with pp, sometimes fire second bullets when good card hit on turn (overcard) and villain folds a lot, then give up especially with things like 88 on a 26s5s flop to resistance)

dont minraise turn, it's bad especially when you do it only with your monsters on turn. Villain should and will be folding any jack on turn, and when he has 2 pairs and is stupid enough to stack with that then you can raise him correctly anyways.

as played i'd call turn, and raise river (consider stack sizes, pot will be 24 and villain will have 21$ behind on river, he'll have to call it a lot anyways)

So far so good, and thanks for the responses.

I have a habit of blowing people off a hand when I have a good hand so I am trying to get more value out of my stronger hands. (My normal line would have been cr or shove all in on the turn) My plan was to try and bring the sb along hoping someone had 2 pair or a strong j. Also I figured if either had kj or a decent k I am looking for a call from them at this point.

Am I wrong for thinking that i am way ahead most of the time with just about any set on a flop like that?

The SB isn't coming into this hand because he probably has Q5 at best, so I like the min-raise here rather than a flat call. Let's face it: we got $4.25 of his $8.35 stack...and if he had ANYTHING, he's going to call all-in there. It makes the pot so big by the river the BB is calling.

Like ED said, it was completely obvious what you had too, and if I had middle two pair on that turn, I might seriously consider folding against a TAGish villain. Thankfully, you aren't playing anyone good on the whole...and the min-raise does make the pot so big opponent will probably never fold. When the min-raise accomplishes what we want(getting all the money in by the river), I don't see it as a bad thing. We think BB is on a made hand, and we pretty much aren't folding to any card on the river...even though I guess the worst card imaginable fell if BB is the type to only raise decently big to monster hands.

I'm just trying to figure out why BB didn't push the river there. He must have really feared KJ.
