Poll...What do you do?

$2/$4 NL....No reads at all.

You limp UTG with 44. Mp raises to $15. You call and youre heads up.

Flop comes J84 with 2 clubs. You check and he pushes all in $500 into the $36 pot. You started with a full $400 stack. What do you do?

I really didnt hesitate much as I thought it was an easy call also. Like Perfect10 said, his bet is absolutley moronic no matter what he has. Just my luck though that he had JJ.

I have a question: Say you chose to limp with Ax-A[c] on this particular hand and when you see that you are going to be taking the flop heads up you decide to get a little tricky and go for a check-raise on the flop. Flop action is the same: you check as planned but then the raiser moves in. Do you fold there?

Well theres not much difference in your scenario.

I still beat all the same raising hands. The only difference is that I would split with AA. Yes, I still call.

I call, too. I figure him for AA/KK, actually.

However, one important (regrettably expensive) lesson here is a particular read. I've seen a number of players move in consistently on the nuts--looks real bluffy and they usually fold the field. But it's not that moronic a move (don't get me wrong, I'm not doing it), as shown here.

It's obviously EXTREMELY important to get that read, though, for future hands.

I see people going all in with the nuts in the flop alot in the NL$25 in Party. I agree with Aisthesis when he said it´s not so moronic, because some player with the second best hand (maybe even 2 pairs) as this case will be tempted to call because of the move looking so bluffy.

I would call anyway. But I have seen the move many times down at this stakes finding more than one caller, sometimes with TPTK and all kinds of hands.

Despite the result I would call. I agree it seems there is not going to be a better hand out there, maybe 2 pair and the guy cannot be arsed to dick about risking the flush. I mean if you're gonna overbet the pot anyway assuming you will fold...

I would be wanting all the money in the middle while I felt I was good anyway so what the hell?

I see an overpair or flush draw being played like this more than top set to an opponent that checked. This guy would also push a bunch of hands you do beat.

As for a bad way to play it? I push everytime at lower stakes in his shoes, 2/4 I will push 25% of the time, and it is totally opponent dependant as to who I will push against, figuring I can't fold a flush card on the turn they might bluff at with AJ one of the suit, and need to get to the river. I rarely play anyone that I think is willing to call that bet unless they frequently limp UTG with AA :P

Edit: By lower stakes I mean micros.
