Pre flop Raises

Postby Tepshen73 » Wed Jul 20, 2005 10:11 pm

Seems like everytime I raise preflop usually 4x5 the BB everyone folds. I only do it with the bigger pairs and depending on my position. Like AA-QQ from EP JJ-TT Mp and maybe 99-77 lp. I do it so people at the Micro limits I play don't their trash and those who do usually fold when a crap flop hits and I BTP. So should I back off with them or continue raising and take down all the small pots and get a big one every now and then.

If the preflop aggression is ok on one of your tables...try limping UTG and UTG+1 with AA and KK. Then come over the top with a reraise...and get their stack on the flop.

also, if everyone is folding to your raises, raise with more hands when a good situation arises. Are you raising a different amount with different hands? If so, stop doing so and raise the same regardless of the hand and only change it if there are a lot of limper but all raises should be consistent so you don't give away information. As kenny said, limp raising is good too.

I usually keep my raises consistent 3-4xBB no matter what I'm raising with. But like Tepshen73 it doesnt take long before everyone at the table is folding to my raises. Should I back down the amount of my raise? Won't that let trash see the flop? Is it better to take down 1 big pot now and then or contunually take small pots?
