Push all in at the river?

Postby iceman5 » Thu Mar 31, 2005 12:26 am

Would anyone push all in at the river even with the board paired? It was pretty obvious to me that he either had a queen or had a set (full house). Most people would either reraise the turn with a boat....or they might lead out agin on the river so I wasnt sure if I should just call or not.

I would raise more than 1/2 pot on the turn. On the river I would just call, especially given your read of him having either trips or a boat.

I wouldn't raise the river; just call. Not only are you losing to a FH...a higher flush is still a possibilty.

I like your raise on the turn.

I was confident I was ahead, but obviously not confident enough to push in. Ive really been trying to evaluate my river play lately as I think Ive been leaving money on the table.

The opponent had KQ.

Hmm... guess I put too much thought into that hand... that seems to be my problem at the tables too... just out-think myself right into making the wrong move. :?

If you're deeper I don't think you can push it, but since you are short enough that he will call you with any queen, I think you should be able to push it. Unlike the hand before, his lead into you doesn't scream nearly as much strength.

I smooth call here the majority of the time. One of those way ahead or way behind situations I think.

Youre always way ahead or way behind when all the cards have been dealt.

The question is...will he call all in when HE is way behind?

Yes, you aren't deep and he has trips.
