If you have a nut hand, is there a standard raise that will commit a guy, but make sure he doesn't fold to you... I will give a couple examples (these are all in 1/2 NL scale and assume me and villian in each case have $200)...
I limp EP w/ AA, MP raises to 6, 3 callers back to me... I know I want this basically heads up, so I need to reraise enough to chase a couple, but I also wanna take some idiots stack who's raising w/ JJ, QQ, or something like AJ...
Limp in MP w/ 88... flop comes AK8... UTG, who probably has TP bets out the pot. I call... Turn is a blank and he underbets a little, like $15... do you call, raise...? How much...?
Raise to $8 in MP w/ AK, one caller... flop is A87... BB bets pot... I'm assuming he has TP, not as good kicker as mine...
I can't think of any more off the top of my head... Basically, I'm trying to figure out if there is an amount to raise that won't scare the villian into folding, or if it is totally opponent specific...
Thanks....MVP
