Some hands from the BTP game

Here's a few hands.

I'm used to folding this preflop against most players as no one dicks around with anything other than JJ/AK, but I guess I should have called against Kenny and been ready to go arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrin on a lot of flops?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) Converter Tool from (Format: Bet The Pot)

SB ($264.15)
BB ($125.30)
UTG ($100)
Hero ($100)
CO ($131.75)
Button ($62.50)

Preflop: Hero is MP with [Ts], .
UTG raises to $4, Hero calls $4, 2 folds, SB raises to $16.5, 1 fold, UTG folds, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $13

This is against Twelver who is being insanely aggressive. I did not expect the shove and thought he might raise light enough I could overshove, though I have no idea how he plays.

Is CRAI here better or does that look even more FOS than just betting? It should also be noted Twelver runs insanely hot so he probably adjusts his calling range accordingly.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) Converter Tool from (Format: Bet The Pot)

CO ($273.15)
Button ($108.80)
SB ($115.45)
Hero ($100)
UTG ($134.40)
MP ($61.50)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [7h], [8c].
3 folds, Button raises to $3, 1 fold, Hero raises to $11, Button calls $8.

Flop: ($22.50) [9h], [6d], [2s] (2 players)
Hero bets $14, Button raises to $97.8, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $50.50

This is again against KennyG. Kenny's acting kinda random/spewy I think he's said something about being drunk, $100 BI isn't much to him obv.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (5 handed) Converter Tool from (Format: Bet The Pot)

Button ($93.65)
SB ($129.75)
BB ($183.85)
Hero ($100)
MP ($107.50)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with [Kc], [Jc].
Hero raises to $3.4, 1 fold, Button calls $3.40, 2 folds.

Flop: ($8.30) [2h], , [3c] (2 players)
Hero bets $6.5, Button calls $6.50.

Turn: ($21.30) [2c] (2 players)
Hero bets $14, Button calls $14.

River: ($49.30) [6h] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button checks.

Final Pot: $49.30

Is a 3-barrel good here? I'm pretty much never double barreling here as that turn just sucks, so my 3-barrels are going to be composed almost entirely of value hands with the exception of hands like 45 and a flush draw. I don't know if Kenny knows I'm capable of reading boards and choosing my double barrel spots compared to just being a NL$100er who fires out randomly, or if he even gives a shit and doesn't just call me for the lulz.

double barrel is fine on hand 3 if you're prepared to man up and triple lots of rivers.

CRAI on hand 2 is fine too as long as you balance this w/ some overpairs and the occasional set.

hand 1 i actually think the muck is fine in this specific context.

Hand 1: I think this is pretty nitty. Kenny was playing tight but also seemed to be doing some pretty random stuff...so I think that tilts it towards a shove or a call and shove a lot of flops.

Hand 2: I dislike preflop against 12er. I also think bet/folding this flop is pretty gross. I would prefer a CRAI. There are no obvious draws so he might actually give you some credit.

Hand 3: Pretty bad river to barrel. I play it the same.

How is preflop not gross on 2? I think betting flop is good though, think people are being results oriented when they say crai.

I also never fold pre in hand 1.

I hadn't been 3-betting much and twelver has like a 50% attempt to steal over 50 hands, he might literally be opening like 65% of buttons. I'm suppose to just wait for a suited connector or better to 3-bet?

55 i would still fold unless game conditions are such that you can profitably shove lots of low flops.

98s with the plan to shove many flops is much more standard IMO.

Have you guys actually done the math for the hands you're calling a 3-bet to? I have because I remember getting told (on BTP obv) to fold anything other than 99+/AQs+ when I open the button and get 3-bet, and obviously I know you guys don't do that but even if we're folding 89ss we're folding such a huge chunk of are opening range they can 3-bet profitably just from fold equity much less when they actually connect a flop.

I'm really debating (since I start NL$200 today) if I want to sit down and do a bunch of math and try to make my "default" much more towards the mathematically correct level or if I should just keep trying to play exploitative, because once I start playing against better players I'm going to get owned with the way I'm playing now.
