strange hand

Postby Jarren » Thu Apr 07, 2005 9:44 am

Ok so i played this hand last night and I was just curious how you guys would have played this

I am playing .10/0.25 NL on UB, I have $22 in front of me and have both guys covered

I am in the BB with 10/3 off.

UTG and the guy to his left call, all others fold.

The flop comes downs 10-10-2, rainbow.

I bet $1.50 into the pot hoping to win it there. I know if I am called I may be called by the other 10.

UTG calls, and so does the other guy. I figure UTG for a poket pair, and the other guy for the other 10.

The turn card is a 7, I check. UTG bets .25 and dude #2 calls. I don't really want to call here because I feel I am beat by the other 10, however the bet is so weak I just call (mistake?)

The river card is a 10. I hit quads. Now I am super confused. I figre one guy for 2's full and the other for pockets. I don't know the correct move here to make but I bet it out, thinking I will get raised.

I bet $3.00 into the pot. UTG raises me all in, #2 raises me all in. I call

thoughts? Do you make that call on the turn? At the time I assumed I was beat but the bet was so weak.

OH UTG had AA and #2 had KK

aside from your overbet on the flop, i like your play on this hand. with only .75 in the pot you don't really need to be overbetting - .50 or .75 will do just fine. while betting twice the pot disguises your hand, the bottom line is you have trips, and in a 3-way flop, this is usualy going to be the better hand.

when both players call you i'd get as concerned as you did. i like your turn check. you have to call the .25. the pot is 5.25 at this point, so even if you put one of them on a 10, there's nothing wrong with calling a dollar or two. Even if your behind you can still fill up for either a split (7 or 2) or a win (3). furthermore, while two cold callers on that flop will often mean that one of them has the 10, a lot of the time you'll get called by somoene with A2, or a mid pocker pair. you're overbet was susupcious, and no one likely puts you on the 10.
