Postby briachek » Tue Jul 26, 2005 8:56 pm

VIllain had $38 and I have him covered. 50NL on Party

Villain calls in MP, I have AK and just complete in sb, bb checks.

Flops comes [ Ah, Qc, Kh ]

I bet $1.50, BB folds and Villain raises to $5. I just call planning on check raising the turn.

Turn is 9d

He checks behind me

River is [ Tc ]

I check. He bets $8 and I do what?

He would have bet the turn with JT, but against a bad player I guess AJ makes sense... I probably call it becuase he may be bluffing a scary board after raising with a flushdraw (and an Ace) or he might be value betting KQ, AQ, A9 or AT.

He had QJh so he won and I wasn't gonna get him off his hand so I'm lucky he didn't bet because it would have cost me a lot more. However, depending on his turn bet, I would have maybe made it too much and he might have chickened out.

the last bet isn't too much to have a look-see, i'd definitely just call here, but learning to fold in this situation will probably save money in the long run
