TPMK, BB, 42 limpers @ 1/2 live

Postby equus » Thu Apr 10, 2008 7:08 am

I need to start posting hands but everytime I start one I think it's a boring or stupid hand and never post it. So here's my first one...not very interesting but dammit I gotta start somewhere.

Max buy-in is $100, blinds are 1/2/2 (two BBs), newly formed table @ like the second or third hand played. I have only played here once before.

I'm in the BB#2 with KJo. 42 players limp, blinds complete/check, I check. Pot is $15.
FLOP: K-5-4 with 2 spades.
SB checks, BB#1 bets $5, Hero ???
I min-raised to $10 (I almost never min-raise and I'm not sure why I did it here...I knew if I called everybody else would too but I didn't want to raise too much because vs. so many hands I'm not crazy about my hand and my position kinda sucks. I hate to say it but I did it for info...something else I rarely do).
Everybody calls until it gets to BB#1 and he reraises to $45. Pot is about $95 and it's $35 to call, pretty much everybody has $90 behind. Hero ???

You already know the min raise is bad.....Now fold and move on. Youre already beaten most of the time and youre going to get outdrawn the rest of the time with this many people in the pot.

Sorry but I lol'd. You min-raised to avoid everyone calling and then everyone called anyway. I'm sure all 5 or 6 other limpers all had a big K, 67 or a flush draw.

Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.

Limping AK UTG in this game is just..really wrong. It's not the type of hand you want to play 42-ways.

Raise to $20 if you have to. But definitely raise.
