I trapped and got squeezed

Postby iceman5 » Tue May 13, 2008 9:55 am

Decent MP ($235) raises to $7. I ($425) call on the button with [Kc][Kd]. SB who is a decent LAG squeezes to $29. MP folds.

Do I....

1) Shove?
2) Flat call and shove any non A flop?
3) Reraise to $65?
4) Other?

1.] I push, if he calls then great but even if he folds you've earned some respect for future hands. If he has AA then just brush it off.

2.] If you call and an ace comes up you may of just wasted a lot of chips. Expecially if you push and he did hit.

3.] Any raise will show a lot of strength. May as well push so you don't have to deal with any possible aces again.

4.] Is there any other? Would you actually consider folding?

You will give a lot of information to the table that will benifit you in the future both if he calls or folds.

If called, It'll show extreme aggressiveness when strong and raised. That'll give you more room to slowplay more hands. At the same time, it'll show that you did try to slow play Kings.

If he folds, it'll show that you're not going to be pushed around and you can raise more with the big hands and get paid.

edit: added more depth to that.

SB just sat with $200. Hes a LAG, plays a fair amount but not quite a regular. I do think hes going to CB pretty much every flop in this spot.

OK...so I flat call since I have position.

Pot is $65. Flop J84 rainbow. He bets $42. Easy shove right?

I don't mind a call or the $70 4-bet. I would probabaly 4-bet.

Now that you called and he CB'd I would just shove. It looks like 99. Calling isn't great because there are not many turns he could catch that will make him stack off with hands he wouldn't stack off with on the flop.
