Triple barreling from BB in an unraised pot (NL$100 6-max)

Postby DoctorHandles » Sun Sep 09, 2007 12:49 am

Opponent is 18/15 over 200 hands. We're a little deep but it doesn't matter.

1. Opponent limps UTG, all fold to me in the BB and I check [4s][6c].

2. Flop [Qs][3h][2d], pot $2.50. I lead $2.50 and UTG calls.

3. Turn [Js], pot $7.50. I lead $6.50 and UTG calls.

4. River [Ah], pot $20. I lead $17.....

Meh?

Yeah, meh. He's probably calling with Qx and could potentially be super slowplaying 22/33. His range is heavily weighted towards low pocket pairs so I would say that's what he has with the odd chance of something like KQ/QT.
Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.

There are no draws on the flop that an UTG player is likely to have. So basically you're spending tons of money trying to push a guy off of top pair. That's a losing play IMO.
