weak bet on the turn ?

Postby euri10 » Thu Apr 21, 2005 2:12 am

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed)

CO ($107.90)
Button ($93.35)
Hero ($102.70)
BB ($166.85)
UTG ($94.15)
MP ($22.50)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [Qd], [Kd].
4 folds, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($2) [9d], [6d], [7d] (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $11, Hero raises to $30, BB calls $19.

Turn: ($62) [9s] (2 players)
Hero bets $30, BB raises to $60, Hero raises to $71.7, BB calls $11.70.

River: ($205.40) [3d] (2 players)

Final Pot: $205.40

I lose my stack against 93
Should I play it differently when the board pairs ?
I feel too much pot-commited to fold it on the turn....
I cried because I had no draw, until I met a man with no pair>>>MVSPORTS

I dont think there is anything wrong with your turn bet. It could be a boat that doesnt want a big diamond to fold.
You could have bet more if you thought he had the [Ad]. I wouldn't worry too much about a boat. His overbet on flop doens't look like a strong hand (it is player dependent).

You got all your money in as a big favourite (BB drawing to 10 outs) and got unlucky.
