Weakish TP..3 way action

Postby iceman5 » Tue May 13, 2008 9:50 am

MP donk min raises to $4. he has about $85 or so total. The button is a pretty good overall solid player and he calls with $200. I call in the BB with [Qc][Jh].

Pot $13. Flop [Qd][Tc][4d]. I check. MP instapots it for $13. Button calls.

I check raise to $45. I believe I have the best hand.

Back in the day , min raisers used to drive me nuts so over the years Ive paid very very close attention to how they play and Im condifent that he either has AA / KK or Im ahead.

MP calls with only $40 behind. Now I know Im ahead, but the button calls also.

Pot $148. Turn [6s]. I have $150 left. My play?

Man... button is a "good overall solid player" but calls a min from a donk pf, then calls a flop instapot then youre CR and donks call? He doesn't sound that good to me... Isn't he prolly raising a fd at some point, especilaly if it's some kind of [Ad] [Jd] type hand... And, he's not gonna call your CR and donks coldcall with a shittier queen... Seems like he has to have a set here a lot, and either way, your tpnk doesn't seem too good...

This is tough, if he (button) has a set it's likely one of 2 hands TT or 44. I would think he's 3 betting QQ possibly even TT against a shortie. He may raise a FD but would he also do it with a hand like KJ or J9... Also based on the action and having the shortie in the middle wouldn't a set likely want to get in in here as the board is semi-coordinated for str8 and FD's?

Although I'll agree that based on button's action so far he doesn't sound all that great of a player.

Your CR into 2 players there should generally project a fair amount of strength no? Checking the turn when a blank hits seems like it screams you have a TP type hand. IF the button is a good player chances are he'll peel a draw on the flop and fold to a decent turn bet. Right?

If that's the case and you're going to continue with the hand I'd say make standard bet. If you think he's on a draw I'd shove qbut wouldn't be happy. I think the only set we see here but I just don't think we a see a set here often.

I think the button may have a [Kd][Jd], [Ad][Jd], [Td][Jd][Kd][Td] type hand. I really dont think he would have just smooth called the flop CR or even the shorties lead with a set, He would just get it in if agisnst the shortie and would have come over the top of you CR?? No?

MP called his last $40 or so with [Jd][Td] and the button folded. My hand held up.
