I wish I was a fish

Postby iceman5 » Thu Feb 17, 2005 12:21 am

Theres 2 maniacs going at it back and forth at my table.

$1/$2 NL

I raise to $12 with AA they both call
Pot $38 The flop is [Tc[[9c][3h]. they check to me and I bet $20...1st maniac raises to $40...other maniac raises to $60.. I almost pushed all in but folded instead. 1st maniac calls the reraise

The turn is another 9.. 1st maniac checks and 2nd one pushes all in for about $140. other maniac calls of course.

QQ beats something that I didnt see. Any normal fish wouldve won that $600 pot with AA

This is the 1st hand that Ive lsot sleep over in a very long time. Im still pissed about it.

The guy with QQ had just lost 3 buy ins in 15 minutes, one of them to the other maniac.
The guy who didnt have QQ left with nothing not too long after this hand. The guy with QQ who had lost 3 buy ins was up to $800 when I left.

In an earlier hand I had raised to $10 with KK and they both called. The flop was K33. one of them folded but the other guy called me down all the way which is where one of his buy ins went. I didnt see what he had.

Maybe I shouldve called with my AA against these 2 guys, but I just couldnt do it.

I'm actually shocked that you didnt push here. 2 maniacs minimum raise? At worst you are up against some straight or flush draw. If there was a solid player between the two, then folding would have been appropriate. But if you have them both pegged as morons, I push on the flop.

Hey Ice,

I think going all in would've been a good play here. You know these two are maniacs so you have a good chance of winning this hand. I think the risk would've been worth the reward. If they had been average players your fold would've been a good play. Have a nice day :D
If you don't fold the best hand every once in awhile, you're probably not playing your best poker

Thats looks pretty clear now and I almost did push, but I kept thinking at least one of them HAD to have a set.

What made me fold was that neither of them had really been raising like crazy early in a hand. They were just calling everything until this hand.

Plus even though they were min raises, they were very large min raises. I mean you cant raise much more than $90 without going all in. There was no folding equity so it looked like they wanted called.
