Why did I change my read? Because I didnt want him to have AK now, thats why. It was wishful thinking. Its OK to change your read based on things that happen while the hand is in progress, but HOPING he has a certain hand is not a good reason to change your read.

Now, had bad did HE play the hand?
I played like I had a set. He should have either folded on the flop or gone all in if he didnt believe I had him beat. Then he check raises all in when an ace hits? If I have a set I win, if I have an ace I win. That is just horrible play. I guess he was hoping I had QQ or JJ. Once again, HOPING is a losing strategy.
One more thing....The next time I raise the flop like that on the same table, I WILL have a set.
