Don't feel bad Monk. I've actually deleted my Tracker results from Party because they're embarrassing. I can't win there, no matter what I do. It's always a donkey-loving play, too.

I lost my $50 that I initially deposited, and they sent me back that $20 "please come back" bonus that you needed 200 raked hands to withdraw.

I build it up to $45 after about 120 raked hands playing $25 NL. I end up with AA on the button, raise to $2.50, get called by one player in MP. Flop trips, push all-in.

He flips over 66. Then I watch in HORROR as the turn and river bring runner-runner 6's. I swear on my own eyes that this actually happened.

About a month later, I get ANOTHER "please come back bonus." Same thing. Built up to $40 or so, I get dealt 77--raise in LP, get called. Flop trip 7's. I push all-in, get called by a guy with AKs. He hits a runner-runner flush. So I had about $1.90 to "clear," which of course, can't even sit you down at a table. The only good thing is that at least it wasn't MY money.

Screw Party. I play at Stars and UB (but only when they have a reload).

Good post, interesting method of saying "the straw that broke the camels back" I was amused :) I don't know what it is about Party/Empire lots and lots and lots of people say they can't win there and won't play there, i've experienced runs like that at Party too but overall between there and UB which are the only places I play they seem to average out fairly equally. I say, if you're not comfortable with it, just stop doing it to yourself, there's plenty of places with good games, especially Omaha games which are good pretty much everywhere because no one knows how to play it.

You're not a machine and undoubtedly your perception of Party, that is obviously very real to you, influences you negatively. The solution is easy, just uninstall Party/Empires clients from your machine and stop playing there.

The loss in bonuses should be more than made up for by your higher win-ratio at the other sites, plus the benefits to your morale and temper should prove valuable both in and outside of poker.

I love party. Its my favorite site and I win the most there. Why does everyone always complain? I was seem to hit my 4 outers on people playing nut flush and stuff like that. It so easy. Then they get mad. Not only do I get their money but a show afterwards when they yell at me in the chat box.

Bad runs happen, probably more so in omaha, every playable hand is even money before the flop the best I can tell, and the variance is thru the roof for solid players.

When I think hold'em sucks I go play low stakes PL Omaha for a few hours and feel much better about my day. It is a great day, when I don't consistently see nut flush nut low beat by straight flush nut low for a tiny portion of the pot. Honestly I don't see the European fasciantion with the game for cash, rebuy tournament maybe :)

Dan Harrington's secret to Omaha, "I don't play it anymore!", and then he grins like a school boy that lost his milk money.

I have never been one outed so much in my life, nut flush vs straight flush, sucked out and spit to the curb like that game. If you are playing hordes of very bad players it is probably worse. The only thing good of the game that I can see that that my hand reading skill and discipline at Hold'em got better for playing it.

That said, be done with party, if they give you free money play it, if they don't let it be gone. And I'm not harping on omaha, I am just saying you will take more lumps with it on the whole.

Good luck.

I've been playing a lot on Party lately and found that I have to remind myself where I am regularly throughout the session. You can't make any tricky plays on Party. You can't make any (ok, make that many) bluffs on Party, either. You have to play tight-ass semi rock poker to stay consistent. If it means folding your made straight on the flop then sometimes you gotta do that. Raising preflop will accomplish nothing other than increasing the pot size. It will rarely scare off the guy who planned on limping with 3789suited. If the flop doesn't hit you, and hit you hard, you have to be done with the hand. It sucks, but once you get in that mindset it can be a profitable place to play. AAxx was a losing hand for me until I learned that I'm better off limping with it and playing for the set (or nut low if I had wheelie sidecars).

Of course, when I play over at Stars or FTP I have to remind myself to turn back into a poker player.

Oddly enough I find omaha to be low variance as a rule, Rdale. Limit holdem has easily been my biggest variance game overall, I find omaha and holdem roughly similar in the PL/NL flavours.

And Jd, yup I know exactly what you mean. Strange thing is, I CRUSH the crypto games which are similar to the Party/Empire ones (chasers, bad play, LAGs), do solidly well at Stars etc and yet have consistently my worst results at Party/Empire. I just don't get it :?

UGH!!!!!!!!

Party Just gave me $50. I have not played there in over a year maybe even 2 years.

Any suggestions on what games to play?

Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Sorry Monk.

Thanks LD!

One last High Jack question.

Are the $10 NLHE tables as easy as the ones at BoDog and Full Tilt?
