Bad runs happen, probably more so in omaha, every playable hand is even money before the flop the best I can tell, and the variance is thru the roof for solid players.
When I think hold'em sucks I go play low stakes PL Omaha for a few hours and feel much better about my day. It is a great day, when I don't consistently see nut flush nut low beat by straight flush nut low for a tiny portion of the pot. Honestly I don't see the European fasciantion with the game for cash, rebuy tournament maybe
Dan Harrington's secret to Omaha, "I don't play it anymore!", and then he grins like a school boy that lost his milk money.
I have never been one outed so much in my life, nut flush vs straight flush, sucked out and spit to the curb like that game. If you are playing hordes of very bad players it is probably worse. The only thing good of the game that I can see that that my hand reading skill and discipline at Hold'em got better for playing it.
That said, be done with party, if they give you free money play it, if they don't let it be gone. And I'm not harping on omaha, I am just saying you will take more lumps with it on the whole.
Good luck.
