FLORIDA SUCKS!!!!!!!

Postby MVPSPORTS » Thu Aug 25, 2005 11:41 pm

So, I'm sittin here at 0130 am on a Thursday night/Friday morning in my underwear (stop droolin TW...) typing messages, playing 3 tables trying to clear the Empire bonus, and surfing random midget porn due to one of the WONDERS of living in Florida... freakin hurricanes...

GOD THIS SUCKS!!!!!!! Not only did this freakin blast of wind and water ruin my most profitable of poker nights, I was actually stuck all night in the house with my GIRLFRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :x  :x  :x  :x  :x  :x

Since I obviously aint got nothin better to do, I decided I would ponder out loud about all the wonderful aspects of living in the paradise that is FLORIDA...

Bugs the size of small birds...
Traffic as bad as NYC or LA...
Immigrint problems as bad as Texas...
Hotter than Satans balls...
WOOHOO... we got hot chicks... too bad like 99% of em are jumpin into some 85 year old millionaires Rolls...
You can get a hooker or drugs on every street corner, but for GOD knows what reason, gambling remains illegal... :x :x :x
Plus, the ever popular and ever in the news wonderful lovely hurricanes...

Boy does it blow to be here... Sorry for the rant, but YOU try spending 12 hours w/ my GF... :D

Adding to the list:

Overpriced real estate. Outside of Florida, you have NO idea.

Low paying jobs. Would you like fries with that?

No decent restaurants.

Lovely beach weather in Feb, but you can't get to the beach.

The world's worst drivers, bar none.

In Florida, everybody is either retired or just tired. I'm definitely one of the latter.

CJ--grateful this one has missed us...so far.

So... to anyone who cared... Hurricane whatever it's name is turned out to basically be a nice little egg fart... Some places flooded, a couple mobile homes roofs blew off... a couple jackasses who decided it would be a GREAT idea to drive around got the Darwin treatment (tree fell on them)... Other than that, just some power outages and such...

And, to top it off........ I HAD TO GO BACK TO WORK THE NEXT DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOY, FLORIDA SUCKS...

2) Wife gets lawyer and files for divorce from her husband in Tennessee
3) Tonya Harding tries to make a living at wrestling...

Trust me, the next time they say one is coming, I'm gone! Charley scared me out of being brave.

Ice, you better grab a piece of property down here pretty damn quick. Land in Lee County has gone up like a rocket. Lehigh Acres, which is an armpit, has seen lot prices increase 100% this past year. When we first moved down here, you could buy a lot for $2500. Now, the cheapest for sale is $45,000. In five years.

I don't get it, tho. There's a shitload of empty land down here. I cannot believe there is such a demand that it will all get built on. Unless everybody from Ohio moves down here, which seems like will happen.

The Florida real estate bubble is going to burst soon. And I'll be waiting.
My brother in law singed a contract to have a house built for $350,000 (this was about 6 years ago). Because of permit issues it takes about a year to complete a house. before the house was finished being built, he sold it for $500,000 and put a contract on a different , bigger house and had that one built. Thats one is worth around 900,000 now.

The bubble will burst and I'll be waiting.

There is no difference between Dutch Tulips, 1929, 1987, the dot com bubble, and real estate in it's present state. Greenspan and the Fed have kept interest rates artificially low for way too long, and have allowed a stock market economy to shift to a real estate economy with the results soon to follow. Think about it...ZERO interest loans?? Give me a break!! No party lasts forever, and you do NOT want be the last one out the door on thiis one...All bubbles manifest themselves in different ways, and there is no telling how long or painful the inevitable decline will be, but all thing retrace to the mean sooner or later...It is inevitable, and you are already seeing signs in different pockets of the country. When all those adjustable mortgages get ratcheted up, many folks will be wondering why the bought that Beemer instead of paying down their debt...

Zero interest? Are you kidding? How about NO PRINCIPLE loans? You got it. People down here are buying houses with loans that are interest only. They are banking on the house's appreciation to provide equity.

I was talking with a builder the other day. He's building houses in Cape Coral. $500,000 homes. $200,000 for the house, itself. $300,000 for the lot. Whoever heard of the land costing more than the building??? The amount of speculation going on down here now would curl your hair. There's no affordable housing available for those of us who are providing the services for the assholes that come down here for the lovely winters.

How about this? A car dealer down here did a survey a few years ago. Half the population leaves for the North in the summer, and takes 80% of the money. It's insane, I tell ya.
