Of the Swedes I know of here, I think I am the onlye one living in civilized parts of the country, read Stockholm. However, Anders lives in Uppsala.
A flight between all those places is 45min to an hour. I would however recommend train between Gothenburg and Stockholm, and Gothenburg Copengaheg, since its is quick and you have approxmaitely the same time since you do not need to go out to the airport.
If you want to meet up in Stockholm, and have a beer or so, or want soem tips shoot me a PM.

Gothenburg -(train)- Norrköping -(train)- Stockholm -(flight)- Copenhagen -(boat)- Gothenburg

If you want a cooler experience and stay on a ship (which is very central) try:

It's central and close to most of the nightlife action. If you're going at at Friday evening starting the night at Berns around 18:00'ish (popular after work place) always fun and plenty of talented women to oogle at. Continue to wherever, there's plenty of night clubs in the area and you just have to get there before the lines gets too long to get in. Dress up nicely and you'll have a better chance of getting in somewhere (leave the joggers at the hotel)
