I was interested in seeing this fight. Maussa's wild man style is always fun to watch though I thought Hatton would be able to handle him. I'd still like to see it, though it doesn't appear Showtime or HBO is re-broadcasting it. Very disappointing.
I really hope Hatton fights Cotto next. Cotto's a really slick fighter and it would be a great match-up, style-wise. A fight with Mayweather would be awesome, but I'm really getting tired of Floyd's big talk with no action and it doesn't seem likely to me that he'll take the fight if he doesn't have to. The division he's in and the classes he could move up or down to, there's 3-4 fights he could take that would be amazing, instead he keeps calling out big names, and fighting the Sharmba Mitchells of the world. I love Arturo Gatti, but he had a 0% of winning the fight with Mayweather. The only thing I have enjoyed about Mayweather is how fast he backtracked after calling out Winky Wright. Classic. If Mayweather ever grows a pair and fights Winky I will pay any amount of money to watch it.
We've said it before, the heavyweights are utter crap. I pained my way thru the Peter-Klitschko fight. Peter has a ton of heart, but he was thoroughly outclassed in that fight. Klitschko knew exactly what he wanted to do and executed it for the most part. Peter's main defense was his face, which he used to block 3 or 4 Klitschko jabs as he came in to throw a wild haymaker. He wore down a lot at the end of the fight, as much from his pressing as the punches he was taking, but he didn't quit like so many of the pretenders who have fought Klitschko. Peter is just so unrefined. He desperately needs to get with a legit trainer. A year or two with a real trainer and I could see him becoming the man in the division. Personally, the only heavyweight I enjoy watching at all is James Toney. Yeah he's really a middleweight fighting 40 lbs overweight. Yeah he barely trains and is in pretty poor shape, and yes, he is an arrogant ass. He's also one of the few heavyweights with any ability to box and put combinations together.
