Here's an example of what I mean. It's not a bad beat, but it's difficult to get beyond.

Sit down with guy. For about 30 hands this guys is very LAGGY. He's called everyone of my pfr of x4BB and leads out into me. On other hands, 4 times in a row he has min raised me on the flop when I had TPGK. I've folded all of them but feel there is no way he has it THIS much and so I wait on my spot.

I raise OTB with AA to x4BB. Of course he calls. Flop is raggedy, I BTP, he min raises, I push. He hit a set of course. Okay, my bad, I should have seen it.

But then, I go on to play with this guy and datamine him for about 600 hands. Turns out he is ULTRA tight aggressive rarely going to showdown.

So what, those 5 min raises were the only 5 hands he hit all night. I guess I was unlikely to start with them. He never bluffed once in the 600 hands I saw after.

Stuff like this is playing with my head.

Tell ya what's been playing with MY head.

An SNG, I've got AKd in the CO. 2 limpers. I raise 3X BB. One caller. K on the flop and I bet 1/2 the pot, knowing I can get more of his chips, as I've got TPTK, a diamond flush draw and position.

Turn is a small card. Bet another half the pot, he calls again. Ok, what in the world could he have that he limped in with?

Turn, no diamond, but another middle card. I push the rest of my chips into the pot and he calls, as I've got 1K to his 3.5K. The Muck button comes on? He's got a straight. He called and stayed in with 67s and I'm out. Sure, the river came an 8 for his straight draw, but what the hell was he doing in the hand in the first place?

MTT--

Cold deck for the first hour. Can't find a hand to play. Posted BB 50/100 level and got 55. Button limps and SB completes. I raise 400. SB calls.

Flop is AAT. Perfect flop for me without hitting my set. Extremely aggressive guy, he'd have raised with Ax PF. He bets small and I push. He shows KT and I'm done, again. He called a 4X BB raise with KT and then called a push with middle pair, when he has absolutely NO reason in the world to think I didn't have an A???

These kinds of donkey calls will completely screw with your mind. I can handle the suckouts on the river and the bad beats, which lately have been far too numerous than averages would indicate. But these kinds of purely idiotic plays are just making me nuts. I'm not losing on average, but if there was even equal justice in the world I'd be killing them.

It does mess with your head.

Trod,
I feel your pain, after having my best month ever in August, I having a rough go of it this month!

The other night on BACK to BACK hands I had my Boat beat by quads on the river and then my Boat sunk by a better boat, on the river again....I took some satisfaction in that they played the hand exactly how I would have and there hand was better in the end (as opposed to some fish Q4s or something like that)...one guy had 88 and the other had AQs....what can you do!!!

hoping both our trends turn around quickly!!
