I'm just beginning to get into investing and would much prefer to make my trades online.
I'm curious as to what sites everybody is using and what kind of brokerage fees you are paying per transaction - any help here would be appreciated. The bank I am with has a section on their site to sign up to online investing and I have done so - they are charging $21.95 per transaction however and I think this is a bit steep (in relation to online sites). Also I'm not sure if I can only buy/sell shares on the ASX (australian stock exchange) - are there sites that allow you to buy/sell stocks on any exchange in the world or would I need to set up a few different accounts (ie, one in australia, one for the US exchange, one in the UK).
Also I know that it's possible to get something similar to 'bonuses' in poker where you sign up and get x free transactions or $x worth of free transactions. If anyone knows of a site that lists the sites that have these (ie bonuswhores esque site) or can just name a couple of sites to sign up to, I'd appreciate it.
I'm relatively clueless so I may come across as an idiot if some of the above questions are retardedly simple - but I'd appreciate any input/advice no matter how small or large.
TY.
Poker is silly.
It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.
Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
