Kind of a useless post... Just saying how INCREDIBLY nice it is to have power/phone/internet/cable after about 10 days of living in darkness, peeing outside when no ones lookin... Eating peanut butter crackers and warm water for dinner...

Dude, one of the craziest nights I ever had was running around NYC during the blackout. My roommate and I got wasted (and ate 2 boxes of popsicles) and wandered around the city. Ended up sitting in an irish bar down the street all lit up with candles, drinking beer and listening to the old geezer (theres always one) at the end of the bar telling blackout sotries (that started with phrases like "Back in '67....). I have never puked in so many historic places with impunity in my life.

The difference is... while New York is cool, and the people are friendly, and you can hang out... Where I live, they were looting and I slept with a gun by my side to keep people from siphoning my gas...

Don't get me wrong... one night, we all sat around, passed the pipe... drank 151... But, when it hits 10 days, you don't wanna do anything but stick your head in the oven... And even that don't work...

Like living in a third world country. Back to the 1800s. Stone-age, man. Insufferable. 3 days without electricity felt like forever. I actually read an entire novel...during the day. At night, I went to sleep the same time as our parrots.
