There are other sites offering the same service (of course). One such is http://www.zopa.com/ which looks to be UK friendly.
I think the concept is pretty interesting but i'm not ready to play Shylock to these ruffians.
On the other hand, I found this photo on prosper.com and though I have no idea what it is about, I definitely want to be a part of it.
