I disagree with your assessment of the managers, but agree wholeheartedly about our craven players.

Now some curly haired bollock-spouting cunt of a bureaucrat has come out with this:

Well excuse me, but is it really any business of yours who England appoint as their coach?

Apparently "Platini believes that the appointment of an English coach would help to preserve the identity of the game in the country."

Don't you think it's sweet of him to care so much about English football? Or would "Platini believes that the appointment of an English coach would help to will guarantee further failure" be a more accurate way of putting it?

Bridge is really hopeless IMO. Not much pace, not great on the ball, a bit clumsy. He's OK defensively but even there he lacks a yard of pace.

I've always liked what I've seen of Isaksson, and there's really not an English keeper looking anything like world class right now. Maybe Green? Foster in a few years perhaps. I'd take Isaksson or Kaspar Schmeichel over any of them at the moment.

I never said Edman is close to Cole, but I think more or less any so-so left back playing with a decent team in a top Euro league would be better than our other options.

I don't think Sol Campbell is even our 3rd or 4th best centre back; the point I was making is that he played vs Croatia because there was basically no-one else available (Terry & Ferdinand injured, Carragher retired) and I think at about that level (4th or 5th choice) Mellberg wouldn't look out of place. I think Ferdinand is the only world-beating centre half england have; Terry's OK but a bit short of pace and quality in some areas. It's generally a pretty strong position for England though.
