This is refering to Catholics which technically are not supposed to get divorced; so if you make it a 7yr marriage contract you can "break up" after the 7yrs without being a sinner.

Atleast thats my take on it.

LOL - problem is kids are going to be about 5 and 3 or whatever 7 yrs into a marriage - kids are a 20+ yr commitment, not <7

T-Rod, yes, wifey would want, but wifey wouldn't get unless you agreed again. Kind of the whole point, I would have thought.

I agree w/excession you're committed to your kids no matter what ... but divorce happens anyway. I wonder what provisions (if any) there are for kids in this proposed 7-year marriage concept. Not like the article was real informative or anything.

I read a Sci-Fi book one time where everybody committed to their spouse for one year at a time. Not sure what the book was, anybody remember it? I'm thinking Left Hand of Darkness by LeGuin, but that one had other weird ideas in it, maybe I'm getting them confused.
