The Steelers Will Lose Tomorrow (Football Predictions)

Postby Mad Genius » Sun Jan 23, 2005 12:06 am

That's my prediction. And I'm never wrong. The look on iceman's face after NE beats Pitt should be priceless.

Philly will probably edge Atlanta in a close one, although I will definately be rooting for Atlanta.

That is all. Make your predictions.

Want to make a small wager MG? I'll take Pitt +3 for $50

I'll take Atlanta too if you want to give me 5 I think it is?

This is a too close to call game for me. I'd bet the under. The line hasn't moved all week, so not a lot of people were taking the Steelers. I make it 9-6, Pats. I just hope two weeks will be long enough to recover, because it's going to be a brutal game. A game for the football purists.

Ice I will take NE then. The loser can transfer the money via Pokerstars. If you don't respond before the start of the game I'll just assume the bet is on.

Well what? We got beat.

My 5 year old came into the room just as the game was almost over and asked who was winning. I said the Steelers lost and he said "but the Steeelers always win"

The game was actually mush better than the score made it look. Take away the first few minutes of the game and its a real barn burner all the way.

Although I think Roethlisberger cost us the game with 2 or 3 bad plays, I have to give credit to NE. Ive said all along that they scared me because they have no weaknesses and dont make mistakes.

Mag Genius, PM me your Stars screen name and I'll do the transfer. Congrats.

I agree with you completely. I thought all along that the reason why Pitt might fall was because they had a rookie QB directing the offense. He was less than spectacular during the regular season but that hardly mattered as Pitt had a tough running game and a great D. I do think that in the playoffs the experience (or lack thereof) of a QB plays a huge factor in the outcome of the game, and Brady who has shown he can handle the pressure of the playoffs had the clear advantage over Big Ben there. It was a great game regardless, and the Steelers no doubt played a tough game, especially in the second half. NE was just able to execute better in the beginning and had a few key plays go their way.

Should be a great Superbowl too. NE vs. Philly.

Roethlisberger didnt put up huge numbers during the regular season because Pittsburgh doesnt pass as much as most teams, but lets not forget that he was 5th in the NFL in QB rating which I would say is better than "less than spectacular". I'd say its pretty damned good.

What kills me about this is that Pittsburgh pummeled both SuperBowl teams earlier in the year (back to back I might add when they were both undefeated). Oh well, they couldnt pull it off when it mattered most and theres only 1 team out of 32 that doesnt end the season dissappointed.

No offense Ice, but I think the reason the Steelers pounded NE in the regular season was because dillon didn't play for the pats. Forced NE to throw A LOT. And if Brady has to throw a lot, he's going to make many mistakes. (i.e. Dolphins).
If you're gonna play trash, expect it to get taken out.

(I hate those people who quote themselves, but that's one of my original lines).

Wait a minute. Mad Genius said if Brady got to pass all day like Manning he would have huge stats. Which is it?

Dillon didnt do all that much yesterday. Other than the one TD run, he got shut down.

NE thumped Pittsburgh for one reason. Pittsburgh turned the ball over 3 times. Pittsburgh thumped NE last time for one reason. NE turned it over 3 times.

Those are 2 of the most evenly matched teams Ive ever seen. It couldve just as easily happened the other way around and NE won the first game and Pitt won the 2nd and Pitt would be in the SuperBowl.
