Chip Reese seems like a class guy, but we don't get to see him on TV a lot. I guess he's too busy cleaning up in the high limit cash games. I've heard that most pros agree that Chip is quite possibly the the best player ever.

Has anyone here ascended to his levels and sat down at a table with him?

As far as I know nobody here plays $4000/$8000, but I could be wrong.

My favorites

This is always a fun subject to talk about...With the TV exposure these days, I guess we have to balance our favorites between "show time" and the realities of day to day poker...

My top 3 are more "pure poker" picks...

1. Chip Reese---Probably the most successful poker player/gambler in the last 20 plus years (maybe in history), and has done it with style and class. He isn't the most fun to watch on TV, since he just plays the game the way it should be played...He is also one of the world's most successful sports bettors, as well as having won millions at Backgammon...My hero!!

2. Doyle---'nuff said...

3. Dan Harrington---"Action Dan" is a tournament playing SOB...He is a great example to all the "rocks" out there that you can still win the old-fashioned way, but of course we all know he is WAY more than your ABC rock...

4. Humberto Brenes---He has won a few tourneys and looks like a little kid at a candy store; I enjoy watching somebody have FUN playing poker for a change!

5. Daniel N---irritates me to no end at times, but he does verbalize his thought processes, and his reads are amazing...

6. ( I know, it's only top 5 !) Chau--- a regular at the "BIG" game, he is entertaining to me...You can barely understand a word he says, but he looks like he is having fun. He reminds me of a cross between a cold-blooded killer (at the table) and a kid having fun! Plus he tips the dealers, which is more than most the top guys do...

Love/Hate list---the usual list---Phil H, Mike the Mouth, Phil Laak

Nice guy list---Raymer, David Williams, J Dags, Marcel Luske (many more I'm sure)

Intensity list---Phil Ivey---is anyone else even close?

tidbits---Sammy F looks good on TV, but as mentioned above is NOT a favorite with dealers; Devilfish is a guy I wouldn't mind having a beer with, but he can be a real prick at the table, another non-fave of the dealers; K Liebert irritates the shit outta me; Erick Lindgren is a notorious "steamer" in the live games;

And finally, anyone (EP9?) who enjoyed the antics of Mattias Anderson...Well hell, I just don't know what to say! Maybe my age is showing, but that little bastard should STFU or get hit by a truck...What an ass...
