My mother-in-law had a brain tumour removed in the early 80's ... in order to successfully remove the tumour they also needed to remove about 25% of the brain tissue. She was not quite right for a long time ... however today the rest of the brain has adapted perfectly and she is completely functional, and about as normal as a human being can get.
