Day 1

Image

So my results for my first day were great. I had a few bad beats but they're to be expected. In one of the $20 HU matches I had my opponent down to t40 chips and he went all in about 10 times in a row, and every time i had a half decent hand i called and he won. He ended up winning the match. I t was ridiculous, but eh. My stud games went really well, most players have no idea what they're doing so it's great!

Interesting entry. What is the average time for such a heads-up battle ?

On average i'd say about half an hour. Some are over within 5 minutes and i've had a few come close to an hour, but most come inbetween. I've decided to mix in some Sit and Go's aswell, and maybe some MTTs. I'll still play a majority of heads up and should have the 1,000 games completed by the end of October, the others are just for a bit of variety and bankroll boosting.

First you need to take a screenshot of whatever you want to paste, in my case, the excel spreadsheet. You can press Alt + PrtScn to get a sreenshot of the active window only. Next you need to open a photo editing program, photoshop works or if you don't have that then MSPaint will work just fine. Open a new document and go to Edit > Paste, and it will paste the screenshot of what you just took into the document. Go to Save As and save it as a .JPG file, under whatever name you want.

That creates the actual file. To post it in a thread, you first need to upload it to a file server. If you have your own FTP server (many ISPs provide them) then you can use that (provided you know how to use it etc), if not, there are a few good free providers out there. I use Photobucket (). Just sign up for free there and once you've signed up and logged in, click on "My Album" and you should be presented with a screen that looks like this:

<<Image edited out because it was making the thread extend sideways>>

Then you just click the browse button and navigate through your computer files to wherever you saved the image. Click accept and submit it. Then scroll down and you'll see a url embedded within signs (pointed out in the screenshot). Copy and paste that into a post and it will display the picture.

I hope this helps, if anything's unclear please ask :)

Thanks for the advice about timing them and that's actually a very good idea. I'll start tomorrow.

I've decided that if I post an image each day, it's going to take a long time for each page of this thread to load, so i'll post an image every few days, maybe twice a week, and the rest of my entries will be more general.

Subject: The tooth hurts
Current Mood: Calm
Current Music: The not-so-quiet humming of my computer

Today was another good day playing HU. After a few $5 + $0.25 matches, I decided the play was too unpredictable and maniacal, and I wouldn't improve my skills at all or get any accurate data playing at this level, so i'm stopping these games. I won another couple of $10 HU matches and a $30 in Stud too. I think I only lost 2 games the whole day, and one of them was at the $5 level. I played three $11 SNGs and place 3rd, 2nd and 1st respectively in them, it was a nice boost to my BR and morale. I entered the $24 + $2 MTT and placed 65th out of 106, with a truelly terrible read going all in with a flush draw versus.. wait for it.. quads :P No SF draw even so I was drawing dead heh. Random thought: I like the fact that at FTP when two players are all-in, they flip the players cards over before dealing out the rest of the community cards. Wish the other sites did that. Anyway, all in all it was a good day for poker. OH and I just rememberd, I unlocked another $20 of bonus. It's going to take forever to get the full $600 but every bit helps I suppose.

I went to the dentist to get a couple of fillings done today. It wasn't as bad as I rememberd from my childhood days of painfully terrible memories at the dentist, so that was good. Anywho, I probably won't get too many games in over the next few days as my sister is in town but i'll try my best and keep this updated.

It's just not my day today. I busted out of my nightly MTT in 91st place (out of 99). I raise preflop to 4BB, I get called by KT. The flop comes 973, i bet half the pot, he calls. The turn brings a queen and I bet 2/3 the pot. He minraises me. I call. The river brings me another jack, giving me a set but giving him the straight. I bet, he raises all in (not much more) i call.

And that's nothing compared to what happened in my HU match earlier on. I had my opponent all-in preflop with Q9o versus my king. Of course he hits his set. I lose another all in with my pocket 8s versus his AQ, bringing my chips down to approximately 100 (we start with 1.5k each). I manage to get myself back up to 1.7k. My opponent is playing terribly, going all in every few hands (we both have fairly even stacks) and picking up my blinds. I decide to make my stand with 66, he flips over, i kid you not, 52s. The flop comes 77Q. He hits runner 5s for the boat. I had nothing much left and lost an all in with my A9 vs his AQ.

I'll play a few more and post final results.

I didn't play much today, and I suffered my share of bad beats but also had an insanely good run of cards in a $11 sng (i got aces 3 times and knocked a player out each time i had them) so I ended up winning that one. I won a $30 headsup, a $20, and a $5 stud one. I lost that MTT and HU game I posted above but that's it. I also started timing but haven't got near enough results to get a good idea of what the average is. Overall, not a bad day :)

I was lookin for ya yesterday to donate a little to your "HU MISSION" cause.... Sadly, you weren't there... So, I had the unfortunate dilemma of figuring out what the hell to do w/ the $20 I had intended to lose to you in a HU game.... 1 extra lapdance just about fit the bill...

I didn't play much yesterday MVP and probably won't be on much till tomorrow, you can always donate to me then :P

Brian i'll resize the images the next time I make a proper update, I don't have much time to be online atm so I can't do it now. What site do you play your HU matches on btw?

Thanks for that info kdiddy. I've got about $360 of my bonus left to unlock so if I play 1,000 matches I should unlock the majority of that.
