donk bets pot of $58. UTG+1 folds. I'm pretty sure he has AAxx or A2xx. He'll call a push with any A2xx (in my notes), and he'll call with AAWx where W gives him a low draw. he could have something like A34x that he'd probably fold unless he has some sort of flush draw. anyway, he'll call with a lot of hands i'm ahead of or crush, so i push. BB folds. UTG calls and flips over

great, his backdoor flush draw is dead, so now he's drawing thin on the high side and to chop (at best) on the low. i'm ahead 75/25.
river

i'm playing 6 tables, so i've already figured this pot is mine unless an 8 or Q hits. sweet... no 8 or Q on the river. i start messing around with another table, and then look back to see if my favorite donkey reloaded... but he's got a double stack.

yessir, my donk played the board for his three cards (trips) and his A-hi Q-kicker beat me out of an $850 pot by a pip.
i normally don't give much thought to these kinds of hands, but the fact that i was slobbering over this donk's money, the fact that i was pretty fucking far ahead for the high, and the way he scooped it... ugh, it just took the wind out of me. anyway, he lost a few small pots and then left. the good news is that he'll be back, but that one was tough to lose.
