Well, don't limp OOP with A279 and you won't have that problem. :twisted:

Agreed with Kuso that the read is very important. In the situation you describe I'd fold 80% of the time on Stars, but probably call 80% of the time on Party. Of course, a blocking bet on the rivered K will solve a lot of that, if you are played back at then you can let it go with (some) confidence. You should also be betting a flop of 37K if you are gonna limp with A279, that's about the best flop you can reasonably hope for with that raggish hand.

IOW, another thing to consider is are you putting yourself in a bad spot PRIOR to the river that causes you to make more crying calls than you should? When I was running really bad (well, maybe I still am, who can tell?) I was doing that way too much.
