Crypto bonuses...

Postby MVPSPORTS » Sun May 29, 2005 5:26 pm

More whoring newbie questions...

I was considering depositing money into the different crypto sites to get the various bonuses... I already do the Interpoker one, but there's like 5 others (William Tell, Caribbean Sun, ...) that offer 25 pounds for like 250 hands...

Have any of you guys played these, and are the bonuses worthwhile...?

Most of the cryptos are worthwhile. Right now, I'm on PokerPlex (300 hands (don't have to be raked) for $50), Interpoker ($90 matching deposit - 7-8x raked hands to release), and William Hill (5GBP per hour for the first five table hours).

I'm planning on getting some of the others - but I just haven't got around to it.

Personally, having a regular monthly bonus is nice - regardless of the terms. Also, the crypto stud tables are really good for my ego...

RIGHT, here's how to sort out the crypto bonuses, IF you're a $ user.

Download William Hill Poker, Ritz Club London Poker, Littlewoods Poker, Totalbet Poker, UKBetting Poker. Providing you have sufficient funds (!) deposit in all of them. Grab the bonuses (generally 5 hours or 250 hand or so to get £25, roughly $50, at each). Bare in mind the fact that low limit HE (if that's what you play) apparently now sucks at Crypto. NL, stud and omaha are all reasonable to good. They now have low limit tables (.25/.50, whereas previously the lowest was 1/2), which has helped squash a bit of the action at the higher level ones, but may make grabbing the bonuses a less risky proposition for some. Bare in mind also that it'll cost you at your bank to cash a cheque made out in £; you should check and find the best deal with the best exchange rate BEFORE you do this, as if you cash out say a £2000 cheque you could lose a reasonable chunk of it to a really poor exchange rate/charging system.

One nice trick for withdrawal from £ sites (I use this in the reverse orientation - i.e. $-£) is to get a neteller account in £ (you'll need to make sure you use a different email address, sign-up etc etc, otherwise they'll kick up a stink as you're supposedly only allowed one account) and withdraw to that account, before transferring to either party or pokerstars. Party and pokerstars will both convert your currency from £-$ at no charge and at a more favourable exchange rate than banks will give you. Bare in mind you need to make a deposit to a crypto account from neteller before you can withdraw to that neteller account (one annoying thing about the cryptos is the God-awful cashier set-up!). Bare in mind also that if you withdraw £ into a $ neteller account they will crucify you on the exchange rate, so you're better off just ordering a cheque as an alternative.

Interpoker is my personal favourite crypto, they give you $90 match every month for a $90 deposit, requiring 700 hands or so to release. Caribbean Sun and PokerPlex offer $40 and $50 respectively for 300-odd hands. These are currently the two sites I don't play as I don't think it's worth my while putting in money for the releatively small bonuses, although at some stage I might change my view on that. I'm currently a £ player so I'd rather rack up my BRs on the £ sites rather than the $ ones for ease of withdrawl and exchange rate reasons.
