Hey Schro, nice catch on the data field sizes.

I implemented this and sure enough, the size reduction is dramatic. I also changed a couple of the double precision number fields to single precision (you don't need double precision for, oh say, exchange rates). I changed some LongInteger's to Integer's as well (I don't think anyone is going to play more than 32k hands in one session :) ).

Instead of doing a linked database conversion, I created a new master blank database and re-imported hand histories into that.

I've brought this concept up to the PokerTracker folks and we'll see what the response is from the smart guys.

I was hoping somebody out there would pick up on this and get the benefit I did. This forum isn't read much, but it seemed the right spot to put it.

At the risk of bragging, I thought it was quite a nice find. There's gotta be other folks out there who's PT database is bursting at the seams and could use this information.
