Yeah i dont know too many players that wont donk off a call here. I mean even if you put him on AJ (best case scenario, as it were lol), you have 5 outs to chop and 3 more to win. Of course, there is always a decent chance that your drawing stone cold dead (as you were) and thats pretty much balls.
But, i am not an advocate of making 'professional' laydowns in headsup limit holdem pots. I wont ever lay your hand, but i would also just call the turn raise/call with it. The mizorly flop check of a PF raisor = the nuts rule holds about as true as the min-raise=monster rule. I call thoug, only because mizors CAN sometimes make a move with like, QT or flush draw, or, SOMETIMES, they can be on a total bluff in a spot like that. I have actually used the flop-check=monster rule as a reverse tell, like when i raise before the flop and i have some usualy trashy holding of mine like 86s, and i flop AK9 and get checked to, i will sometimes check behind then bet the turn if checked to or raise a turn bet if bet into. Its always tite when that works, and its always untite when a mizor calls you down with third pair, but then at least you know hes a mizor and youll beat him in the end.
