QQ and I'm reraised

Postby Sunbob » Wed Mar 29, 2006 12:12 pm

Early in my SnG I ran into this situation. As usual in these games early on - they could be playing anything.

Ultimate Bet
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $20./$40.
10 players

Stack sizes:
UTG: $1055
UTG+1: $2110
UTG+2: $1310
MP1: $2180
MP2: $2010
MP3: $1425
CO: $1445
Button: $820
Hero: $1475
BB: $1170

Pre-flop: (10 players) Hero is SB with [Qh] [Qc]
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls $40, UTG+2 calls $40, 4 folds, Button calls $40, Hero raises to $260, BB raises all-in $1170, 2 folds, Button calls all-in $820, Hero ???

What do you do?

Mjeh. Seems like a fold is the prudent choice. If you're lucky you're up against AK+JJ, if you're super-lucky you're up agaihnst Ax+Ax but a lot of the times one of them will have the AA/KK you hate to see and if not, someone probably has AK for a flip. I won't fault you for calling but the bigger you think your edge against these players is the more you shuld lean towards folding.

This will often be a small favorite vs big dog scenario.
