Wait a minute. I'm confused.

Seems to me that you are complaining that when you bet, people either call or they don't! If they don't call you think you bet too much, and if they do call you think you bet too little.

I'm not sure what other options they have! :-) They could re-raise you, would that make you happier?

A more serious answer, fwiw. If you are betting pot size and they are folding, that's fine. There's no guarantee they would have stuck around if you had bet less. You have no idea what's in their hands. If they want to call, they're going to call. Especially at small Party tables: these tables are reported to be full of fish. They're not often going to make subtle distinctions between when they are getting odds to call & when they're not.

Example of bet size not mattering much sometimes: My 97s flopped top straight the other day with no draws out there. I was on the button, it was checked to me (4 others in the pot), so I threw out a minimum bet (almost never do that) of about 1/8th the size of the pot. Everybody folded!
