Where can i find a backer?

Postby Moesky » Tue Mar 01, 2005 12:26 pm

I need a backer cuz im good at tournies but i always blow my money in cash games. If someone was backing me then i would not play cash games at all cuz its not my money. If i was being backed then it would help me with my problem with managing money. How the hell do i find someone to back me ? and im talkin about around a thousand bucks. That would probably never happen huh?

Hard to find them..

Postby Al Spath » Tue Mar 01, 2005 1:57 pm

Recently a player we all noticed on the WSOP telecasts put himself up on EBAY.

I know of a person who finished at the final table in last years WSOP event with 2500+ entrants who is willing to share a good portion of any money he makes this year in events leading up to the WSOP and the WSOP, if someone will assist with entry fees.

Pretty good player, pretty good deal, PM me if anyone really interested, will provide his email addy...

Do it like the others: Ask people you know. Start with your family and friends.

ha ha, try this on MY site

Ok, you pre-empters can have your laughs now, but SOON will be the launching of my own site.

I thought we went over and over this.

In order for you to have a "backer" there must be some possibility that the person can expect a return of their investment.

GET a JOB PANDHANDLE on the freeway offramps.

Whatever you have to do to get money.

Then, DO'NT SCREW UP NEXT TIME.

The amount of skill present in online tournaments, is too low to expect to have any kind of consistent record, WHATSOEVER

15 minute (AND GASP!! EVEN 10 OR 12) ROUNDS, pretty much KILL online tournaments.

Yeah ATE has made 12,000 in the last 16 months around 140 hours of play BUT, I am QUITE sure, that that WAS NOT the long-term expectation.

Sooner or later, you're going to have a lucky "hit" again.

THIS TIME, DON'T LET MOM HAVE IT, DON'T BLOW IT.

There is plenty to be won, in VERY small tournametns. 10 and 20 and even the 5's.

So, the next time you have a grand, DON'T FRIGGIN' BLOW IT.

and, FORGET SIT AND GOES, THEY ARE AS USELESS, AS A CONDOM WITH A HOLE CUT IN THE TIP. (especially on party, with 10-HAND rounds)

Bottom line: IN order for you to get a backer, you are going to have to WIN one, first.

but, you can always try.

And, by the way. DON'T ASK YOUR BACKER, FOR A GRAND. start with 22 bucks

If you need a backer, then you can't be much of a player.

People without money should leave the players alone.

I'm with Johnny here.

You want a backer, find a rich idiot. They're not as common as you might think.

Some people actually play a lot better with backer's money. Although, from the sound of this guy, 'playing' and 'well' don't often come in the same phrases.
Partake in my bollocks, bloody chav!

THERE IS ABSOLUTE NO NO A THOUSAND TIMES NO, BOGUS INFORMATION, IN MY SECTION.

STOP PICKING ON THE GUY. HE HAS DONE WELL, IN A COUPLE EVENTS.

And, anyone who says that CRAP about people needing a backer, not being any good.

Well, THEY JUST DON'T PLUCKIN' KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT

talk BULL, somewhere else.!!!!!

Hello HELLO!! Several years back, Tom McEnvoy (1983 champ, BORONS)

Had to be backed by Phil Hellmuth Eskimo, GRRRREAT player, is constantly broke, and needs a backer to get back in.

many many many GREAT plaeyer, are NOT SO GREAT, when it comes to handling their money.

BELIEVE ME I KNOW,

Ate made a TON in Alaska, but spent most of it, on HOES, and "Brugs" and expensive food.

Same for a LOT of great players.

So, PICK ON SOMEONE ELSE. Moesky has a lot of personal problems, yet he can still win sometimes

So, instead of picking on him, why don't you each give 'em a buck, so he can play a thee dollar event.

what the hell is a buck, anyway

Ok, my apologies to Johnny Monk et all, for the "borons" remark. I just identified with Moe, cause I was busted for a couple weeks.

I ask people for money, but of course the difference is that I PAY IT BACK.

ha ha, went from TOTALLY BROKE, AND OWEING 900, to having 1200, and so far paid back 450.

read about this, in my article.

It's great that you're doing well again, Adam! We all like hearing about a comeback.

Remember everybody that any staking deals in the future should be sought via PM or email, and not via public post.
