$3/$6 blinds. I was in the CO with QQ. MP raised to $18, and was cold called once. I just called the raise, planning to bet or raise on the flop if an Ace or King didn't flop. The BB called as well, so we see the flop 4 handed. The original raiser and I both started with stacks over $1000.
Pot of $75.
The flop was A,7,4 rainbow. Okay, an ace hit in a raised pot with three opponents, I was planning on check-folding and moving on. But to my surprise the first three players checked. I checked behind them. Should I have bet here? I was fearing that an EP player with an ace might have checked planning to raise if it was bet behind them.
The turn was another Ace, putting a two flush on the board. The BB checks and the orginal raiser bets $35. The player in-between us folds, and it's $35 to me. This seemed like a small bet. Did he really raise pre-flop with an Ace and check it on the flop against three players? Or does he have an underpair to the board that he now hopes is good?
With that weak of a bet, I decided to raise to $100 and try to take the pot. BB folded and the orginal better re-raised me to $250.
I folded. Anyone play this different? A re-raise pre-flop might have given me the information I needed. I really feared a weak suited ace or pocket Kings, but there was a good chance my queens were good.
