Hi Matt,

you're talking about POT-LIMIT games, right?? 10 buy-ins could be enough, you just have to play VERY, VERY tight, no gambles. Never go for the low only (like you do it sometimes in limit omaha with many players in the pot), look for starting hands with high possibilities.

PLO8 or PLO.... try PLO8, players are weaker there. Many people calls all-in with the nut low only (or 2nd nut low) and you can three-quarter them every time. But if you prefer Omaha High or are better in that game, why not playing that? Remember to play tight and you'll make it.

Sorry Adam, I broke your rule and answered in your section.

Regards,
LJ

thats such a good point. i hear so many people worrying so much about there bankroll when if they go broke it dosent really matter (there not really broke just lost there poker money)
for people who dont depend on it or aspire to play proffesionally in a set amount of time, live a little and dont be so worried about bankroll requirements. if you ever have a family to support from your poker winnings youll wish you had the freedom to take a big shot every now and again and heaven forbid gamble a little.
id be willing to take some chances if the worst thing that can happen is you will need to take a week to scrape together a few buy ins before you can play anymore.
this obviously will take some heat from some people(if anyone reads it), but its my opinion on the matter.

BALLS is part of what you get, by being an ATE fan. Even though I am about to have my own website, and could make more profit, by NOT telling the truth about certain issues, I am NOT going to sell out.

"bankroll" is a VERY complicated issue, and there are MANY factors that need to be examined, in order to find what is required for EACH individual.

Anyone who says that yo u need a "300xbb" bankroll, is a STOOGE who knows nothing, and only PARROTS what he/she has heard.

NOTE: this does NOT mean, that you should EVER EVER just jumped into some monster game, just because you have the buy in.

I HAVE WARNED EVERYONE BEFORE, LET'S DO IT AGAIN.

It is NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT a GOOGLE times not (ed note: I mean the mathmatical google, not the online search engine. 1 google= 1,000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 )

the concern about busting out. the CONCERN, is getting used to the big money, and not being able to play smaller games anymore, even when you should.

God help you, if you win the first couple times you play a giant game.

ONLY THOSE, with great maturity, patience and disclipline, could ever do this

VENDING MACHINE RObert, will sometimes play 20-40, although his regular game is now 9-18.

But, if he loses, he goes back to the smaller game.

MOST PEOPLE CANNOT DO THIS, SO I WARN AGAINST THIS.

if you win several times in 20-40, but then go broke, the money INVOLVED at the smaller limits, will seem like nothing, and now for the rest of your life, you will always be trying to get back to the larger game, whenever you have the minimum buy in.

HEY, DO YOU PLUCKIN' THINK I'm making this up? That I don't know, firsthand.
