Too aggressive? QQ

Postby iceman5 » Wed Mar 23, 2005 3:57 pm

$1/$2 NL at Prima. All involved have about $200
An avg player who raises too much preflop raises to $8. Im next and call with QQ. The button , who is pretty good, reraises to $16. Mr Avg calls and I call.

The pot is $50. The flop comes QT5 rainbow. Checked to the button who bets $24, Mr Avg calls, I reraised to $70. They both folded.

Did I over do it? Im very sure the button has AA or KK. We've played alot togther and he surely knows when I raise like that I can beat an overpair.

The other guy is a question mark. I busted him yesterday with a set in a raise pot when he had AK and flopped TPTK. I had a feeling he had AK and didnt want him to hit a gut shot, but thinking back, his odds are so low that I probably shouldve given him one more shot at it by just calling.

Thoughts?

If everybody was able to make a living off of their hobbies the world would be a much better place.

The only other way to play the hand would be to lead at the pot on the flop. But, your check/raise was a good play because you got the AVG to throw some free money out there for you.

I believe taking the pot down right there cant be that bad of a move. If thge gut shot or over set hit can you lay the hand down? I know it would be really hard for me to lay it down there.

TAKE THE MONEY AND MOVE ON.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.
