i'll give this handconverter a try. im probably being results-oriented... I'm new to table: No reads. Fold? Would it change anything if I had a bigger pair with a diamond?

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (9 handed)

MP2 ($222.60)
MP3 ($398.10)
CO ($78)
Button ($292.60)
SB ($396)
BB ($1066.40)
UTG ($393)
Hero ($390)
MP1 ($193)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with [Jh], [Jd].
1 fold, Hero raises to $16, 2 folds, MP3 calls $16, 2 folds, SB calls $14, 1 fold.

Flop: ($52) [8d], [5d], [9d] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $52, MP3 raises to $104, SB raises to $104, Hero folds, MP3 calls $0.

Turn: ($312) [Ah] (2 players)

River: ($312) [Js] (2 players)

Final Pot: $312

EDIT: Ok, the hand converter didnt work  On flop MP mini-raised my potsized bet and SB reraised all in for another $300 or so. MP called. Final pot $864

Hey look, this kind of crap happens all the time and you have to get used to it. If you are playing well you have to accept the fact that from time to time you will fold the best hand. One of my close poker mentors always reminds me that we (we being the skilled players) will not get as much value out out of top pair/overpairs as our looser playing opponents. That is because we are willing and able to let go of a hand if we think we are beat. Once the big-bets start coming out it is best to be quite sure about your hand before you commit.

good luck

I think it's a definite fold, and a good call... I personally can't stand jacks, as they are so easily broken, and play them much like a normal mid-pair. Js w/ a flush draw on the table for all your cash seems pretty risky.... I think you have a much better chance waiting till you're a big favorite and taking them out then. I mean, if 2 people go allin w/ 77 and Q9 w/ a flush on the board, they're more than likely to bite at something when you more clearly have em beat.

BTW, when I used to play UB a little while ago, I noticed that people at the 1/2 and 2/4 NL games LOVED to go allin w/ mid pairs (77,88,99)... I have no idea why, but they never seemed to stay around at the table as long as me... It's sorta like playing blackjack, put all your money down, win or lose, and run...
