Normally I try to play a "pump it or dump it" game in PLO8, keeping my flat calls to a minimum. I was about to just click "fold" when the bet came but then everybody started calling. Is it correct to call on the flop? There seem to be a lot of bad scenarios.
- I hit my low on the turn but get quartered. If someone with a high bets and only me and another nut low calls we're just giving him money.
- I hit my low and someone bets in to me with no additional callers, now I am being free rolled.
- I hit my low but I'm counterfeitted on the river.
- I miss my low.
Do you call the flop?
On the turn I pick up a gutshot giving me 3 nut outs for a likely scoop, but the guy who originally bet now checks and someone else bets (I can't put him on a hand, it's an odd bet). I figure the guy who bet the flop might well fold now, reducing my odds, an one guy is already all-in and the guy behind me has only $1.47 left, further reducing my odds... I decide I don't want to put in another $12.75 for an unlikely scoop and a likely quarter, correct decision?
