Xaston defeated/ Back to the winning ways.
Current mood: calm
After a +$2000 session on my 5/10 tables I decided to see how Xaston was doing. I didn't know it at the time... but my goal was to beat him at his own game. Like the bastard I am, I sat behind him HU on the 2/4 NL game at pokerstars. I don't have most of the hand histories, but it all started off with a bang.
We were 3 handed and I was dealt AJo. Xaston made his standard raise, and I popped him up to $40. He repopped to $140 and I pushed. (Can't last good 'ol Xas push me around afterall.)
He shows KK. Obviously I was happy with that since AJ has 4 outs and KK has 2 outs. Simple mathmatics.

Anyway the flop came down AJ rag and I took it down.
After much reraising and retarded suckouts with 79 and 46 and the like... another big hand was about to brew. I have the hand history for this puppy:
Button ($404.10)

I'm not at rock-bottom anymore poker-wise. The 3 day break really helped me collect my thoughts and focus. As I stated earlier I won around $2000 on 5/10. I also placed 2nd in a $100 sitngo (for fun) and I did well at that 2/4 NL game.
Today was a much tougher match. I was up and down all over the radar. I put in a 4 hour session with crazy swings. I started up a $1000, then down $1500, then only down $300, then down $2200.. to finish down only $200.
I made some mistakes. I donked off almost 3/4s of a stack on this hand:

I decided to close a table after that and focus on a guy on tilt. I was calling a lot of his preflop raises with position. He noticed and it was getting to him I'm sure. I finally had him give me his stack by letting him bluff all streets. I probably won close to $2k off him for the session.
I'm happy with the way I calmed down and took ahold of myself. When I was down $2k I almost lost it. That's when I opted to close the 3rd table, walk around for a minute and collect myself. It worked in my favor and I took advatange of the situation.
That is not as easy to do as it sounds. I'm sure many other pros struggle with it; I know I do. I conquered it this time though and I think it says a lot about my character and my game.
