The older you get, the more rules they are going to try and get you to follow. You just gotta keep on livin', man. L-I-V-I-N. - Wooderson

Personally I just assume everyone sucks until they show otherwise. - Nortonesque

I really disagree with you there CJ, or disagree might be the wrong word, I mean I have a completely different experience. If I double up early I would say I end up in the money 90% of the time. Getting a big stack early is usually a through ticket for me. My average ITM finish is about 40% and almost half of that is #1 placement.

This is probably related to the fac that when I double up I start paying more attention (I'm always multitabling), get better reads, play position better, get a better table image etc etc so the stack itself isn't the only thing responsible, but logically a double stack would double your chances, in my case I think it closer to triples them.

When I was playing SnGs and playing well, an early double virtually gauranteed a win, when I was burnt out and playing poorly, it meant an early exit.

Especially on a loose aggressive site or table, an early double up you can pretty much log off and cash.

It may not guarantee a better finish, but logically, you have 2x as many chips, so it certainly helps out. You won't be put in desperate situations as soon and you can survive a bad beat. Many times that's all you need to make it ITM.

Nearly everytime I double up or triple up early on, I'm also making it ITM.
