River headache with a lowflush

Postby forssell » Fri Apr 08, 2005 10:43 am

13-25 nl online. No big reads on villain, hasnt done anything wild the 5 orbits Ive played.

8-handed, mp1 (villain) limps, CO limps, I limp with 34s OTB, sb folds and bb checks. 4-way flop, As9s4d. Checked to CO (2400) who bets 90 into the 110 pot. I (2900) call, folded to mp1(2600) who calls. Turn is the 8s, board As9s4d8s, pot 380. Checked to me I bet 300. Mp calls, CO folds. River 5h, pot 980. Mp bets 1000. What is my play? Comments on other streets wellcomed also.

I would fold. Its hard to believe MP would play anthing but a higher flush that way. I personally dont play 43s for just this reason.

Is this 10/25NL? At UB?

I believe the only thing you're beating is a bluffed missed flush on the turn. I don't buy it though..as ice says..looks exactly like a higher flush.

Yep, good thinking bhoys. I on the other hand called and got to see KJ spades. I rarely limp with 34s, I don´t hate it here but without reads on opponents it was a bit optimistic. In the end I was getting 2 to 1 and I suppose I´ve seen too many bluffs lately.

The game was pokerroom, I said blinds 13-25 but it´s 12-25. Usually not too good a game, sometimes lights up though.

Looks like a fold to me! Let this be a lesson to ya, avoid crappy 4 hi-hands. My min requirement for playing a suited connector is that I have position and a minimum of 10 high.
If everybody was able to make a living off of their hobbies the world would be a much better place.
