Big out of position QQ hand.

1/2 NL Prima
Both villains have $200; I have them covered.

I get [Qh][Qd] UTG. I consdered limping but the table was too passive. I raised to $10 preflop. 3 callers. The button was a station. The CO was average.

FLOP $43
[3h][Jh][9s]

I bet $30. CO and Button both call.

TURN $133
[3h][Jh][9s][9d]

I'm afraid of a FH and trips here. I check. CO bets $36 and Button calls. It's back to me....I take awhile and decide that the CO does not hold a FH...because he's an average player he would certainly slow play. He might hold trip 9's but I'm not sure. I am pretty sure the calling station holds a flush draw. I call.

RIVER $241
[3h][Jh][9s][9d][8c]

I check. CO bets $32. Button folds. I don't like the call...I don't know if I'm winning or losing but my pot odds are enourmous. I call.

Results later.

How was my play throughout the hand? It seemed very passive...I usually play a nice agressive game but I was afraid here. Being out of position sucks. Thoughts?

I think I wouldve check raised the turn all in.

Let me rephrase....if I checked the turn (which I think is fine), and the cutoff only bet $36 into the $133 pot and then he got called, then I wouldve decided to check raise all in.

If the cutoff had bet $36 and the button folded, then I wouldve just called. I dont want the button hanging around with whatever draw he has.

He is a calling station...meaning he is probably gonna be hanging around regardless of the size of the bet. The key is to give him incorrect odds and force him to make a bad call, which a big checkraise will do. I didn't look at stack sizes earlier, but since they each only have like $125 left, and the pot is a lot more than that, your only option is to raise all-in, as opposed to raising and still being able to get away from the hand, as I said earlier. If CO calls, I think button might actually be getting the correct odds to call anyway, but you can't really worry about that.

Yoga, by the looks of several of your recent posts, I would have to say you are playing weak tight.

That can be very costly to your win rate.

RESULTS:

I called and CO showed [Qc][Jc]. I had him dominated throughout the hand.

I guess you guys are correct about the turn raise...but man...a bet an and overcall was scary. easy to say...harder to do under pressure? :)
