1-2 NL on PokerStars
I call a raise with 77 out of the blind from an EP player who I have played 90 hands with, his VP is 20 his PFR is 5 and his PFA is 3.5...adding these numbers to his style of play I know he is someone to watch out for but I cant fold a medium pair for a typical size raise. I hope to bust him with this hand if it hits right but this is what happens:
We both have $200 in front (another sign of a good player, he keeps re-upping when he loses) Flop comes K 9 9, 2 clubs, I check, pretty much done with the hand, but he checks too. Turn is a nice looking 7. I make a weak lead, betting $10 into this $18 pot. River is a jack. Board reads K 9 9 7 J, no flush. I bet $30. He moves all in for the rest of his chips, about $150 more. I think and think and think. He didnt raise me on the turn so I dont think he just has a 9. That smooth call on the flop really set off alarms. What can he have? I figure the only hand I can beat is a total bluff or AA. I folded and he showed KK.
Wow...that was almost as good of a feeling as winning a big pot! I ended up a small loser for the day but felt good about it.
good flops
