Hmm, been awhile since I updated this. I guess I'm way to busy to journal now that I'm unemployed ;)

I've made the NL switch and have been playing a little $25NL on Full Tilt and some $40NL up at Ocean's 11. It's gone pretty smoothly -- kind of hard to not do well at these levels. I spent a bunch of time hacking together my limit AutoHotkey script with someone else's "bet pot" script and a rebuy script so I can easily play several tables of NL with just a few taps on the keyboard.

I've played in the Saturday tourney at O11 a few more times but nothing has really come of it. They have a new Sunday $90+10 tourney that I may check out.

Been playing some $25NL still, just one table at a time. I'm up another $60 or so since my last post, and I'm running at 20PTBB/100 overall. I think I may try the $50NL since I have the broll for it and the $25 seems pretty straightforward. Not that I've played perfect or anything, I've definitely made some mistakes, but I seem to be better than most of the people playing there.

I played a bit at the $.40/.80 deep stack 6 max tables today at FTP. It's pretty nice not to have 3 guys at the table with 10 big blinds. I donked off $60 early trying to get a guy off a weak hand, but I recovered and ended down ten cents. The play was really weak so I ended up at 28/20 instead of my usual 24/10.

I think I need to work on my river bet sizing. If I have a strong hand I usually just pot it the whole way, but I think I'm missing some value to river folds. The guy here had $33.xx left, maybe I should have bet $18 or $20.

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game (deep stack)
Blinds: $0.40/$0.80
5 players

Stack sizes:
UTG: $37.65
Hero: $182.60
Button: $155.50
SB: $75.40
BB: $56.05

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is CO with [9s] [6s]
UTG folds, Hero raises to $2.8, 2 folds, BB calls.

Flop: [Ks] [5s] [9c] ($6, 2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $6, BB calls.

Turn: [8s] ($18, 2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $14, BB calls.

River: [Jc] ($46, 2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $34, BB folds.
Uncalled bets: $34 returned to Hero.

Results:
Final pot: $46

Thanks Piers, made it here just fine. No weather through the passes and really light traffic, so it was a pretty easy drive for the most part. I'm in Forest Grove, which is just west of Portland and where I'm from originally. I'll probably end up living in Portland eventually.

I stopped in SF overnight at a friend's place, and we went to this thing called "unsilent night", where a whole bunch of people bring boomboxes and this guy hands out tapes that everyone plays synchronously as they walk around the city in a big group. Apparently this dude, Phil Kline, does it in a bunch of cities around Christmastime. So that was pretty interesting, and there were probably 600 people or so there.
