How to play straight on turn?

Postby rb2350 » Thu Apr 21, 2005 6:08 am

I ran into several bad beats yesterday when I made a high end straight on the turn. In these, either a flush or full house came for my opponent on the river.

Question: How should I play these in the future? Should I go all-in when I get the straight to possibly cause the opponent to fold? The betting up to the turn did not show any particular strength on the opponent, but I am wondering if this tactic would actually work?

Thanks for your comments and suggestions.
