Party NL25 AA Hand

Postby Kowskie » Fri Apr 22, 2005 7:10 am

NL 25 on Party. Have 2 red Aces OTB. MP mini-raises and I raise to $4. BB and the MP both call. Fop is 5,6,9 with 2 hearts. BB goes All-in. We both have full stacks and no read on the BB. Another party all-in with a flush draw or a strangely played set? Thoughts?

I'd fold against a set
I cried because I had no draw, until I met a man with no pair>>>MVSPORTS

Call. I say he has JJ.

Rarely will someone push all in with a set when first to act.

S why not let AK bet , then check raise all in? If Ak checks behind your still in great shape with the 87s. Maybe a king will hit the turn and THEN 87s can stack AK.

I dont see any reason to push all in in front of the raiser here.

I can't necessarily fault the push here in this particular game. Flopping the nut straight against a suspected overpair is a great situation, and most people at this level will call all-in with their big pair no matter what the board looks like. Among better players pushing here is likely -ev, but at this level it is way +ev.
